Steve Topley
Expert workforce analyst and data modeller - and a working clinician.
Steve is our lead analyst, an expert workforce and data modeller with an unusual second life as a registered Paramedic and former Operational Commander. His clinical understanding lets him combine human factors with realistic operational and strategic modelling; his Microsoft Valued Professional pedigree gives him the programming depth to build the tools rather than just operate them.
Has developed suites of data modelling tools, plans and dashboards to enable workforce planning, tracking and costing across regions of the UK - proficient with Power BI, Tableau, SQL and the wider Microsoft analytics stack.
Prior work has included a whole-Trust modelling tool for scenario generation across multiple options, providing workforce, finance analytics and additional insight support to a New Hospital Programme business case.
Supported Integrated Care Systems in the South East with vaccination planning during the pandemic, and several Trusts in developing MI reporting and insights dashboards from ESR and Finance data to support operational planning rounds.
Previously led the initial phases of an Electronic Patient Record system implementation and contributed to system-level workforce demand and capacity models.
