Accessibility statement

How healthdynamics.co.uk is designed, tested and maintained for accessibility, and how to tell us if you find something that does not work for you.

Our commitment

Health Dynamics Consulting Ltd is committed to making healthdynamics.co.uk accessible to as wide an audience as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the working baseline for the site, and to design content that works reliably with assistive technologies, keyboard-only navigation and adjustable text and contrast settings.

Accessibility is not something we treat as a one-off project. Our design decisions, editorial standards and testing routines all include an accessibility check as a matter of course.

What we have done

  • Colour and contrast are set to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios across body text, headings, buttons and links.
  • All interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, in a logical order.
  • Images that carry meaning have alt text; decorative images do not, so screen readers are not slowed down by them.
  • Videos and audio content, where used, are provided with captions or transcripts.
  • Page structure uses proper semantic HTML - one h1 per page, ordered headings, landmarks (main, nav, footer) and lists that read correctly to assistive technology.
  • The site works without JavaScript for core content and navigation; interactive enhancements degrade gracefully.
  • The site supports browser text zoom up to 200% and page zoom without loss of content or function.
  • We honour prefers-reduced-motion - animations and auto-advancing content pause or stop for users who have this OS preference on.
  • The site is tested regularly against automated accessibility tooling and periodically against assistive technology in practice (screen readers, voice control, keyboard-only).

Known limitations

We are transparent about what does not yet fully meet AA:

  • Some content embedded from third parties (for example videos and forms hosted on external platforms) is subject to those platforms' own accessibility - we choose partners who commit to accessibility, but cannot fix issues we do not control.
  • Older documents linked from the site (PDF publications from previous years, for example) may not fully meet AA. We produce new documents to accessible standards and remediate older documents on request or as they are refreshed.

If you find a barrier that is not listed here we would like to know.
